Hey everyone!
Ever since I was a child, I LOVED K.K. Slider from Animal Crossing and have been listening a loooot to his songs from the games! Now, for quite some time already, I felt the need to try my luck at re-drawing some (if not all) of his song covers in my style for fun! I decided it would be a nice and fun idea to express my appreciation for both the character as well as the franchise, so I figured I'd start with the first song when it comes to alphabetical order and see where it takes me. This is "Agent K.K.", one of my favourite songs as well, and I tried my best to capture the mood and scenery of the original as well as I could!
I had a LOT of fun with this piece. Drawing K.K. is so enjoyable to me, especially his eyes (I don't know what it is, I just love drawing them haha) and adding Copper in the background was just so fun, as well! It's so cool to try and re-invision the round and simple characters from Animal Crossing in my more semi-cartoony style. I kept Copper's big snoot but made sure to make him and K.K. more detailed. However, shading them was a bit challenging for me and I tried making it work out, simply because I dislike having scenes with the light source coming from behind, but that's just personal preference haha. The background was very easy for me to create and I think I managed quite well with it in terms of aesthetics. What do you think?
