Daylight Savings Time is a heinous crime the US government came up with during WW1 to save electricity. What happens is once a year (First Sunday in March), we adjust our clocks one hour forward at 2 am. In other words, at 2:00, we adjust our clocks to read 3:00. Then, the second Sunday in November, we change our clocks back to normal time. Unfortunately, the savings in the evening are made up for in the mornings. But, our super intelligent government can't see that.
Not to mention the fact it's universally hated (I think is one of the very few things nearly everyone can agree on no matter their political stance) but nothing is ever done about it. Year after year government says "we're finally going to do something about it" and nothing ever happens. It would be as simple as scrubbing the two days off the calendar and updating the Time Synchronization computer systems with a few lines of code but noooooo...
Every year, there is always someone to tell us that this is the last time we change the clocks.
And every time, there are those who want to stay on summer time, those who want to stay on winter time, and those who want to stay like that.
But, everyone agrees on one thing "it's useless"

That's quite a wild swing until I remembered the further towards a pole you get the crazier the difference. Around here (dls shifts included) winter is something like 7:30am-5:30pm and summer gets like 6:00am - 9:00pm or thereabout. More or less a 2 minute change each day between the solstices.
YESSS That! It was finally getting somewhat light in the mornings which helps me get going for the day but now, once again, it's nearly pitch black even when I get to work. Not to mention the safety factor of not being able to spot the copious amounts of deer as easily in the dark.
