A brief piano quickie; this is the extra life fanfare from Sonic & Knuckles, or Sonic 3 & Knuckles if you have the lock-on cartridge. In both cases, this is what you hear when you gain an extra life. (The same fanfare appears again in the Genesis/Mega Drive version of Sonic 3D Blast, a.k.a. Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island.)
