This was a drawing I commissioned at AC 2011 from the one, the only
SusanDeer.
On the left, we see Reggie Buckhorn, and on the right, we see (as he then was) Sir Josslyn Buckhorn, Bt. and chairman of the family firm, F.R. Buckhorn & Sons. They do not see (figuratively) eye-to-eye, and given the Sire's rather explosive temper (hinted at here by Sue), there is sure to be a ranygazoo in the immediate future.
A few editorial comments. I had no reference work for Sue on this; she drew this from memory (she had done other illos with Reggie, and a model sheet for Sir Joss). The result speaks for itself. Note the subtle fact that Sir Josslyn has a few more points on his rack than his buck-fawn. Sue also nails Sir Josslyn's butterball nature (the result of overindulgence with the oatmeal). I like the medium she chose, too.
I'm a Sue Deer fanboy, and what of it? A combination of great talent and a gentle, softspoken personality is a winner.
