The precursor:

Cloning template made by [M********]. Somehow gained sentience. They are the first of the current line of clones following the tragic accident resulting in premature death of the original Shaia.

Any new version of Shaia and Precursor are not fond of each other. Precursor creeps Shaia out and serves as a painful reminder that their experiences and memories might be fabricated. Precursor resents Shaia (and by extend their creator [M********] ) for being the more refined "product"

They actually consider themselves closest to the now dead original and constantly weep for what they could've become.
