Went ahead and made Shrubbish into an actual pokemon, or more so a convergen evo, similar to Wiglett and what not. I also gave it an evo, Arbordor.

I love the idea of this! Shubbish is adorable, and I like Arbordor's entry. Reimagining the pair of Gen 5 Pokemon that had the most hate against them is genius (I didn't mind them me personally, then again Gen 5 is my favorite Pokemon generation). I kind of wish this convergent evolution was real.
Klefki fills such an oddly specific niche that making an alt species that mimic it would likely feel forced. I could see Jynx working, maybe something that looks similar to a mermaid with manatee theme to give it that rounded shape and to play on how sailors used to mistake manatees for mermaids. As for Porygon, I've seen fakemon when Legends Arceus came out that were origami foldings that came to life that looked like Porygon, so I could see something like that working for it.
Forced or not, I could see a convergent Klefki being something named Klefsi, vaguely resembling a cephalopod (less a specific cephalopod and more the idea of a cephalopod collecting and using items), and while it's not the most solid idea I think there's a basis one could do. Just spitballing though for this somewhat old post.
