The prey wasn't a pushover, however many injuries it had to endure, for it cleared out many of its ambushers effortlessly using its own bodily weapons, primarily its gigantic tusks.

Yes, there is a Hisuian variant of Sneasel, but the variant that later in the timeline would become known as the Johtonian variant, was also present in Hisui, and would have been very likely to gang up on a Mamoswine passing by, to hunt it down.
