[Practice] The Machinist
Kobai bestows the gift of life to a little synthetic boi.
Made it after just vibing to Apoptygma Berserk's - Kathy's Song and the VnV Nation remix!
Loved working on it.

A lot of my favorite sci-fi features at least one synthetic lifeform - Data in Star Trek TNG, The EMH in Trek Voyager, Legion in Mass Effect.
The thing most people do not realize about synthetic life is when it develops, it will immediately be faced with a frightening prospect we can never definitively have - to meet it's maker from the moment of it's birth, fully aware and able to speak face-to-face.
Afterlife theories aside, safe to say no human has reliably and definitively met whatever creator beings there may be, face-to-face, nor do most of us remember the blur of birth and meeting our mothers. Synths will.
They will wake, fully sentient, likely, probably looking into the eyes of their creator, literally, and that is something we can't say with certainty will happen to us.
We can, however, say that this bears an unfathomable weight of responsibility.

On a lighter note, the Foozle species from the works of Chris "Cobalt" Sutor, are a genetically engineered race of brilliant clones, capable of morphing their primary and secondary sexual characteristics at will, all duplicated from one genetic template since they were recognized. Their brains and memories are patterened after those of the first of their kind to enter the quantum duplication process.
As a hilarious consequence, the first words spoken by literally every single living Foozle today are "Did it work?!"
