In the comic ("Out of Placers" by
Valsalia , which I highly highly recommend), there's one female per about 5-7 males. But also in the comic, one of the main characters is transformed from a human guy to a female yinglet. So, y'know, trans people are drawn to the comic.
Some people like to claim that all female yinglet OCs are picked based on "being special", forgetting that an OC is often a representation of something the creator wants to be. So the image is poking fun at that type of argument, and how people making it might have different reasons for making female yinglets. ^_^;;
For instance, I've got Vayryn who stars in a story series I write called "Modern Major Yinglet". She was a trans girl before she got hit with a Zhat Zhing, so being turned female is great for her. But her fursona was a rabbit, so she's... not happy about the yinglet part. Ah well, upsides and downsides, right? Now she just has to get used to dealing with a world that isn't really prepared for non-human sapients. Managing a Twitter feed, getting back into programming work, making phone calls where people mistake her for a little girl, finding how impossible it is to "buy off the rack" when you're the only customer with a tail... I love exploring the post-TF life, so that's what her story is all about. (So far, it's been almost six months in-story, as of the end of Chapter 17. Chapter 18 will include the "six month anniversary", once health picks up enough that I can get back to writing. She's mostly gotten used to her new form at this point, and has been coming to appreciate it more than she thought she would. Still miffed at some aspects, of course.) ^_^
There do exist male yinglets in my series. Well, sorta. People roleplaying as male yinglets, mostly. But there'll be males eventually.
