All of these are functional.

"Gearlock" pistol (watergun)
Aetheric Oscillation-lock pistol (air-powered dart gun)
The Dragon Revolver of "Long Fang" *(cap gun)
"Ray Derringer" (spring-powered dart gun)
*(sorta functional. has tendency to misfire, and one of the chamber nipples is broken, making it a reverse "Russian Roulette.")

Scopes on pistols are good for two things- 1) hunting and precision target shooting. Some folks use them for silhouette shooting, although I don't. 2) a reflex scope (red dot or holographic) can speed up your target acquisition significantly. They actually make units so small now that they can replace your rear sight.
I possess an 8-3/8" heavy barreled .44 magnum revolver with highly adjustable sights. it's a poor choice for self defense (unless you use it as a club!), but an excellent choice for hunting or silhouette shooting, which is pretty much what it's specialized for.
