Glory is the first big collaboration between
Foxena and myself. She does the linework, and I make it a comic. Basically I draw the panels and do the toning and shading and tweak and move and wiggle people around and just comic it up.
The city where Ithobaal lives, Athil, is a machine designed to empty a person of everything and funnel them into Ithobaal's welcoming arms. That woman you thought you could see the rest of your life with in her eyes suddenly dumped you? Lost all your money? Lost everything? Ithobaal and the lily wolves will scoop you up and take up in and take care of you with meals and housing and even a paycheck.
Just don't ask about the plus one you now have hanging out in your soul telling you to do all sorts of fun new things...

A lot of problems could be solved that way if that were just a normal sword. Unfortunately it's sort of a demonic manifestation that probably would just phase through him. Still, the lack of a head would make Ithobaal a lot less dangerous regardless of how it was removed.
I remember! Shale was my favorite character ever, moreso when I found out Shale was female. If you've noticed in Verse, I like working woman characters where gender is just a thing people have, and the important thing right now is that there's work to get done. Probably because I'm asexual, but I've also always been a tomboy.
Lore dump incoming, and some of this might have been said already but I have legit memory issues so accidentally repeat myself a lot, if you've heard some of this already my apologies.
I wanted to theme the evil forces around something and since it originated with Dwarves I used ironsmithing. The Anvil is what I chose since it's an item that is used to make other items, but it's also a subtle point that as valuable and vital as it is, it's just another tool to the actual blacksmith. Just in Glory, The Anvil decided it could be just as good as a blacksmith.
I decided to call the things serving the anvil 'swords' because it also keeps me from using their actual demonic names from the creatures they're based off of. As a catholic it's ill advised to focus too much on the names of actual demons so I decided to go with this instead. All five swords are based off of the supposed five generals of Satan, but with sword names instead of the demonic ones. As an example, the Claymore is considered the biggest of the swords and there's is a massive and powerful demon lieutenant named Leviathan, so I named him after the biggest sword. One of the demons is known as 'Lilith' and so I hunted for a sword that was considered a woman's weapon and ended up with Naginata which people tell me is more of a polearm but one works with what one has.
And since demonic lieutenants were named after swords, the lesser mooks, the generic demons, are called Daggers. And since you seem to like trivia I'll toss in a little more for you. The Nasrani call all of them, from the Anvil to the tiniest little stickpin of a dagger, 'Dags'. I got the term from a book I read as a kid called 'Daggie Dogfoot' of all things. It was about a mulefooted piglet who could swim, but I learned that the term 'Dag' was also a country farm term for an animal that had been born misshapen or wrong, like a runt but deformed as well. And since this takes place in the old west with settlers and country folks, I decided they'd adopt the term 'Dag' in response. It's also the Nasrani's way of subtly saying they know what these things really are, and they know each and every one hates them utterly and want to see them suffer. The only reason why they play nice is that they like playing with their food because they have literally nothing else to do.

Hey, you never have to worry about lore with me, I love the stuff. XD I always find it fascinating to dig into the minds of other writers, who I've found think a lot like me. ANYWAY on to the actual response. x3
My favorite character in Origins is Morrigan, just because of her attitude. I like Shale's attitude also, but Morrigan's attitude I find really charming. That's why, whenever I play as a male (usually a male elf) I always romance her. When I play as a female (again, usually an elf) I always romance Leliana. Using your anvil in that way is really interesting, like the Anvil of the Void it's just a tool to be used by the blacksmith. Does it also corrupt the user in any way? Like, the more they use it the more they want to use it? Like a craving or an addiction of sorts.
I also like using names like that for my weapons! I have a great sword I named Leviathan, for example, as well as a great hammer named Mjolnir. I also like naming them funny names (my blades are called Knife to Meet You, Mr. Stabs and Stabitha. Tag Ur It is my sniper rifle, Joker is my shotgun [because it has a helluva 'punch' line], and my hammer is called Snooze Button. Just to name a few). And using 'Dags' in that way makes sense, both as a shortened form of Dagger and as an insult. In my campaigns I always had the Drow call everyone 'Clods' for dirt clods because how they live and because they see them as being no more intelligent than lumps of dirt.
I'd like to know more about the history of your world, it sounds really interesting and well thought out.
