Only a kitsune could outsmug Darya without even trying. In addition to being a kaibutsu, Suzokon-kyō is also an A-list troll. Yep, kitsune.
The insult you're groping so hopelessly for, Manuke-ouji, is Inu. Call him a dog, that will piss him off. Calling him a rat is nothing but more amusement. Suzokon-kyō is making a chump out of Prince Manuke without hardly trying.
I'm still waiting for the counterpunch. That should be... interesting.

Usually, Taran gets what he wants after zapping someone. Since one usually can’t avoid or block electricity, Taran isn’t going to accept that the usual routine isn’t happening.
Taran probably won’t stop trying “the definition of insanity”, especially since blue bloods like that have this skewed view of reality: that everything exists to serve them, and anything and anyone below them is worthless.

He assigns way too much power to Suzocon. Even Q had flaws and this dude ain't Q. He WANTS to be a god, but he ain't there yet.
We've already seen he's quite capable of screwing up. He's an interesting villain and a powerful one, but hardly infallible.
And there's only one of him. How many opponents are there?

Mind you, a yao no kitsune (fox of eight tails) is pretty powerful. But not many wild/chaotic/evil kitsune achieved such heights. He gives off the same feeling of the other kami of this world - he was once a zenko-kitsune (noble fox), but became corrupt and evil. As seen, he is not an opponent to be trifled with, but both the heroes are smart enough they believed Roko when he said: Tread carefully.
But ultimately it is Virmir's story, and I'm liking the direction he's taking it. Yeah, it'd be easy to make Suzocon into a Marty Stu, but he specifically avoided that. Brand, at the moment, ain't going anywhere, but while Suzocon is busy messing around with Prince Moron's head, Saida-hime booked to go search for Roko.
And there's only one of Suzocon. Someone is gonna have a very bad day before this is over, but I doubt it'll be the main chars. If it's Prince Baka, AFAIAC that's just a bonus. They're both vile, and they deserve each other.

This is probably the most fun he's had in centuries. He's outgunned, but this is a battle of wits as much as weaponry, and Taran-manake showed up entirely unarmed. And he's so kindly charging up his shrine's mana batteries.
I think he was originally expecting Vetra to show up, but instead he got her Baka musuko.
And kitsune have been trolling fatheaded opponents for millenia. It's part of what they're known for! 😂

Generally this particular arc's been a joy for me, mostly because Virmir did his homework. He created a kitsune that both homages the original Shinto mythology and adds something appropriate to the setting (his "arcane artificer" skill).
That being said, probably should tone down the enthusiasm, but I figure, long as nobody's bothered by it...

Besides being a nearly top-level kitsune and an arcane artificer, Suzokon also has an 18 skill in trolling. While the dumb jock doesn't even know how to insult a kitsune properly. Suzokon-kyō looks like he hasn't had this much fun in a century. Suzokon is probably reading Sun Tzu in his spare time. Taran's playing tag. It's kinda pathetic, if you think about it.
The mischievous side is certainly coming out. I imagine it's to keep him shocking but eventually even Taran is probably going to switch to something else. I wonder what Suzocon's next step would be. Planning on using the eyestone for something, or does he have another trick for the Quetz.
I think that Shock Jockey is the ONLY Vigor Taran was blessed with, thus my nickname. He's a hammer and everything is a nail. He's just going to run out of salts before much longer.
Then it's Suzokon-kyō's move. And I'm not even guessing what happens next. That's the "fun" of fighting the Arcane Artificer class. You never know what comes out of their bag of tricks next, and an 8-tail is going to have a deep bag of tricks to draw from. We're already seen what happens when he gets serious about fighting, and he wasn't even using half his power.
I know that one of my DMs. when we faced down a BBEG that had Arcane Artificer ability, had a whole random chart to roll from to see what came out of the bag of tricks next. If I were writing Suzocon, I'd be sorely tempted to do the same until playtime was over, and it was time to get serious. Wouldn't entirely surprise me if Virmir was doing the same.

This dude may be the Puppetmancer. He certainly seems to have an awful lot of the same characteristics, but Virmir loves to play with expectations and throw out red herrings. I hope his full backstory is revealed in time; it's gonna be interesting no matter who he really is.
( After all, what better way to disable the very gods you were defeated by before by corrupting them, too, and turning them against each other? )
