I receive quite a few commissions through Flight Rising nowadays, many of which are absolutely full of life and character from the get-go! I love working on fullbody scenes, especially when my clients have stories they want told. For this piece, I was asked to create a Western-inspired piece featuring Boi, a lone ranger of a Flight Rising dragon! Having grown up in the West, I was very familiar with deserts and thoroughly enjoyed working on the entire scene. It challenged me in unexpected ways, but I remain proud of the end result!

Flight Rising is one of those online pet breeding and collecting games, though it's less time-intensive than most! (For example, you feed all the dragons at once, rather than one by one like some virtual pet games.) It's simple on the surface, but gameplay can get more complex depending on how much time you spend in it and how much currency you want to earn. I treat the game itself casually, but there's a thriving market for dragon art there! Because no one combination of colors is rare (or even truly unique) lots of people will add clothes to their dragons to give them a more specialized vibe. They're my favorite sort of commission! :D
