A few notes about Iota:

-They're reified Tenets and Ideals, and some of the time those Ideals do help define things like Personalities and Sexualities. As a sample, Blake's entire identity and purpose crisis inter-relates to their Tenet of 'Everything Has Purpose'. It further makes sense they'd be at least trans, if not agender, as the process of discovery does involve some openness and experimentation. Why not play into that? It also helps sell the idea that these Tenets are effectively a way of life for most.
-The zeroth law of life is that 'Everyone Deserves Happiness.' So why not use that as a motif for Mind//LESS on the whole? A world decimated by disaster and selfishness that is attempting to rebirth core concepts that should have been at the forefront... it's almost poetic, given the state of the world, currently. To further represent that, Mind//LESS should represent people as evenly as possible, show that everyone has to work for their happiness and aren't going to be handed it for no effort. So why not show disabilities, different sexualities, relationships both good and bad, and the struggle of maintaining the ability to eat?
-I, as the creator, am very much a misanthropist. In essence, my belief is that Humans are what's wrong with the world, what make the complexities and struggles we deal with daily and that the only fix is a complete rewrite of basic human tendency, which will never ultimately happen. So far, at least, I check my beliefs in at the door and leave them outside the works. Do I show humans being asshats? Yes. But I also show that this life is hard on them, too.
