I wanted to design power armor for a pioneer character. Pioneer's got hard sci-fi, so I wanted to make the armor look realistic. I took most of the design ideas from SARCOS's exo suit rather than the traditional/cliche sources like 40k or Halo. I wanted to show that, although the suit is big and strong, the person piloting it (in this case a Matzu (fox) named Rifk) is actually pretty small. Also, in Pioneer I like to use what I like to call a "naked tech" aesthetic. That is, you can tell how all the tech works just by looking at it.

Unfortunatly a lot of parts of this picture came up short in my mind, though. Oh well, better luck next time.
