Here's the other one. I can't get these two out of my head these days, so I figured why not draw them, too?
Goin' to bed.
Again, this style is
neoneko's. Watch him if you like it, he does it way better than me.

They're cute, but I think I prefer them in your style more X3 Your style gives them more rump to grab and your faces are... more adorable, I think. These have the sexy dominatrix look to them, whereas yours has more "innocence" and match real personalities better ^^ Though I'm also not a fan of makeup, which is a big difference X3
All three are excellent things :3
These style experiments remind me of something the creator of Dinotopia once wrote about the problems of sticking to one style of drawing all the time- that it basically was artistic stagnation, and branching out to experiment in other styles was the best way to grow as an artist. Not something i agree with 100%, but there's definitely some truth in it.

I think there's a basic nugget of truth in it, which is that artists tend to set very linear goals for what they want to do, and then they get prideful. Once you're good at drawing a certain way, it can be hard to have the humility to discard all that progress to go and muck about in some other style you haven't mastered, or do some other medium you have no experience in.
Combine that with the way everyone jealously guards their intellectual property and works, and you might not even get to do any of that playing around. For being a field where you'd think creativity and exploration would be encouraged over all else, it's a very stifling environment.

I find the way some artists protect their style to be confounding. It's one thing to want to protect your characters or a particular design-- especially when there are people out there who will just trace/copy an image and claim it as theirs --but i've seen more than a few who take any imitation as an act of theft, regardless of the intentions.
