Let's just say seen these a dream once.

Anyways I'm not entirely sure how they work...
I'm not a trained mathemetian or anything.

But from I gather my guess is

The form on the left is representative some how of the infinite.
The pink Torus pertains to the Sine function
The blue Torus pertains to the CoSine Function
The Purple membrane pertains to the tangent function.

The spherical spiral form is representative of the finite and pertains to the Unite Circle.

In the prequel comic Numbers.

Rik goes a little more indepth about how it works and how he's used these complimentary constructs to create portals, portal fluid, the Remnant Stabilizer, and other Polybius Rik sci-fi bimbo tech.

The designs on the shapes themselves were arbitrary but the overall shapes are what matter.
