A patron story request involving a greedy panda getting cursed. I hope you all enjoy!
---
There was only one reason Po would be rummaging around the Jade Palace. “There’s gotta be something to snack on around here.” He moaned despite having eaten a short while ago.
No one else was there to tell him off. To make sure his grubby, greedy paws stayed out of places they didn’t belong. Other members of the Furious Five around town and Shifu out on a retreat. Which left Po the sole guardian of the Jade Palace and its secrets. Which meant that he could roam as he pleased while looking for more treats.
“Man. Why can’t there be anything useful in these scrolls?” Po lamented. Idly flipping through the tags on each one didn’t bring him any closer to a meal.
Though his eyes briefly scanned something in passing. His paws grabbed the dusty scroll that’d been tucked away at the bottom of this drawer. Forgotten and ancient, even before Shifu’s time. But the reason it had Po’s attention was a message used to seal the document.
“Use in case of extreme hunger. Yep, that describes my situation well.”
Reading through the paper revealed a method to Po on how to get the most from anything eaten. A series of hand signs were written out as his stubby fingers struggled to follow the pattern. Eventually Po got it down as he felt an odd tingle course through his body. “That’s it?” He checked to make sure there weren't any missing steps.
“Po? Where are you?” Viper’s voice made him jump from the surprise. In doing so, the scroll fell onto a lantern. Even with his new speed and skills as a Dragon Warrior, Po couldn’t extinguish the flame in time. All traces of his meddling gone, reduced to ash.
“Shoot. I’m in trouble.” He hurried to put everything back the way it was before calmly exiting the archives. “Oh, Viper, back so soon?” Po greeted the snake as she slithered with a basket in tow.
“Tigress asked me to bring these by.” A simple sniff of the air revealed that they’d gotten a batch of his favorite dumplings. “She knew you’d pitch a fit if we didn’t have any for you.” Po hungrily grabbed the dozen meat-filled dough balls. Eating them hand over fist made Viper snicker. “Someone’s hungry. Though… is it me, or have you gotten a bit fatter?”
Her tail pushed into his gut. She couldn’t tell if he was always that rotund but it almost seemed like Po had gained weight just by standing there. “Hehe, stop, ticklish.” He chuckled, making his fat bounce around. Finishing up the dumplings added more fat to his frame. But he too didn’t really notice.
At least for now he was full… for the next hour. Once again, the same problem arose as he impatiently waited for dinner. Sitting at the table, the Furious Five chatted about their day while Po did what he was good at: stuffing his face. He had little to offer while minding the palace.
Yet conversation came to a standstill as Po noticed all eyes were on him. “Wut?” He asked, cheeks stretched full of rice.
“Am I seeing things or are you getting fatter?”
“He was always fat, Mantis.”
“I’m serious Crane. Look at him.”
Po nervously swallowed as they stared intently. Just as Mantis noticed, their panda companion began to swell out wider. Surpassing the width of the table’s end with butt blubber so heavy that it crushed his chair. Not that it was a sharp drop with so much flab in his backside. Growing belly pushed into the table, knocking it back a bit as his gut needed all the room to swell.
Finally it came to an end. “I knew I wasn’t crazy earlier. The same thing happened when I brought him those dumplings.” Viper told the others as Tigress crossed her arms, standing beside Po.
“What did you do?”
“Nothing. I don’t know what’s happening to me.” He whined as his round face had grown flabbier with two distinct chins and gourd-sized cheeks. “Am I cursed?” In the back of his mind, he knew what’d caused this. The only thing that would explain this was the scroll. But then that’d mean Po would have to admit to snooping around and destroying an ancient technique.
Tigress couldn’t fully believe him while Monkey grabbed an egg roll. “I’m curious. Open wide.” He commanded Po. Feeding him the deep fried treat resulted in another sizable surge of weight. “I thought so. Anything you eat is turning to fat instantly.”
“Ulp. Guys. What should I do?” Po struggled to get upright. Sure, being big meant he was used to lugging around his bulk. Gaining almost double his body weight in a single sitting wasn’t easy enough to combat.
“Simple: any training ought to help with all this.” Tigress said as she pinched his arm flesh, making him wince. “Tomorrow will be the start of Hell Week.” Such a statement made the reserved members of the Furious Five recoil. Even Tigress herself hesitated but knew she had to commit. Nothing else would help him shed this weight.
This five day training regiment was meant to put anyone through the wringer. Hundreds of miles worth of running. All manners of physical workouts such as push ups, sit ups, pull ups, and everything in between. Swimming and climbing to make the muscles ache. Only four hours of sleep at the maximum as each of the Furious Five took shifts to oversee Po’s training.
In order to keep up through this training montage, he was allowed to eat normally. The way Tigress and the others saw it, simple meals wouldn’t have too much of an adverse effect. Po had to be burning way more calories than he took in. That wasn’t wrong by any means.
Surprisingly he was able to handle everything on the first day. Exhausted no doubt but managing okay. But what none failed to understand was the nature of this weight gain. Every morsel, even the smallest grain of rice, had made Po expand outwards.
Growing fatter and heavier where his body would work against him. His arms lifted up at a right angle from the rising hip flab that pushed up against them. Legs barely able to waddle around a gut that touched down to the floor and entered a room several seconds before the rest of him.
They couldn’t get day three started without running into a problem. “Guys… I think… I may… be in… a bind…” Po huffed as Crane and Monkey called the others to watch this wheezing panda struggle. A slow crawl of a walk if it could be called that. The biggest cause being that massive stomach that the five could use easily as a shared bed.
Yet they all walked around his mass to gaze at the sheer size of those cheeks. “When did these come in?” Tigress wondered, pawing at them as the jiggling from each shack-sized mound of butt blubber made his brown shorts rip apart. Turning into scraps as they were the one thing holding back the true heft.
Pushing the group back as the ass fat bulged outward, Mantis and Viper got smothered as they writhed beneath Po. “Come on guys, stop hehe.” He laughed even if they weren’t intentionally tickling him. Though with so much fat spreading across the marble floor of the palace, Po realized something harrowing. “I’m stuck.”
“What do you mean you’re stuck?” Crane wondered while he, Monkey, and Tigress struggled to get the gargantuan, elephantine cheek up enough to let their friends crawl to freedom.
Once they’d been freed could the Furious Five take a proper look. It was just as Po said. His feet weren’t touching down to the ground any longer. Propped up by a good foot of black fur fat wobbling beneath Po’s soles.
And to only make matters worse, he was hungry again. A side effect of growing so big so quickly, increasing his need to consume. A perpetual motion machine of gluttony and weight gain. “I’m not sure how much more of this I can take.” Po didn’t mind the fat too much at first. Now that it had him helpless did it sink in that this was no joke.
“Maybe if we don’t feed him for a day?” Tigress pondered since continuing Hell Week wouldn’t be possible with Po stuck on the palace floor.
A novel idea if it worked. Luck was not on their side as a simple starvation strategy had the same effect as draining a bath with a thimble. Too much fat to be effective as after a day Po pleaded with the group.
“Guys, I need something to eat. I don’t care how much fatter I get.”
“I suppose we can’t starve him…” Viper said, feeling bad, bringing her friend some fruit. Doing so brought yet another headache; his arms were too fat to feed himself. “I suppose I’ll feed you. Try not to swallow me.” The snake half-joked as she began to push apples and oranges to his mouth.
Even low calorie foods had enough of an impact to make him swell. Growing bigger, fatter, and larger than before. A new strategy came to mind as each day, four of the five would scour the land for some remedy. One would stay behind to take care of Po. Dangers put to the wayside to get to the bottom of this.
Eventually word got to Shifu as he ended his month-long retreat early to climb the Jade Palace’s stairs. At its lowest step he could hear the panda gorging yet wondered why his students were running around the lands for his sake. “I best brace myself for the worst.” Sage advice that did little good once Shifu saw what’d happened to Po.
Never in his wildest dreams did he think that, in two weeks, half the Jade Palace would be filled with panda blubber. A heavy hill of sprawling blubber that stretched out in every direction. Shifu watched its peak inch closer to the rafters. How much longer could Po grow before making the place explode in shrapnel from panda pudding?
“Master Shifu is back!”
“You have to help! Look at what’s happened to Po!”
“One day he just started growing.”
“We try to feed him light meals but he won’t stop getting fatter.”
“Surely you can do something. We’ve tried our best to help but nothing works!”
All the explanations of the Furious Five were ignored as Shifu held up a hand to silence them. He took a good long look at the panda blob sitting in his temple. A heavy sigh before shaking his head.
“Am I right to guess that you read the scroll that said to use for hunger.”
“Wow, you really are good.” Po chuckled as his stomach rumbled in a demand for more food. That was news to the others as they all shot him dirty looks. Each of the Furious Five had been worried about him in their own way, waiting on his hand and foot. And all of this was of his own doing!
Even the Furious Five were amazed that a simple scan could reveal so much. He wasted no time explaining. “That scroll was used in times of famine. Allowing people to survive on so little by slowing their metabolism. A few meager scraps could last for days. But when used on a panda who doesn’t know the meaning of ‘full’, well…” Shifu didn’t need to finish. The results spoke well enough for themselves.
“How do we undo it?”
“Well, Tigress, that depends… where’s the scroll?”
Po looked away from Shifu’s intense stare. Those massive cheeks obscured his eyes as he nervously avoided answering the question. Thankfully the elderly red panda only needed to give that giant gut a few pokes of the ticklish variety to get Po to spill the beans. “Hehe I dropped it haha in a fire hehehehahah it’s ashes.” His blubber continued to jiggle uncontrollably as everyone there gave him a glare.
With this news Shifu’s worst fears were realized. “You foolish greedy panda!”
“Is there no way to undo this technique without the scroll?”
“Such knowledge was even before Master Oogway’s time.” Shifu answered Viper’s question with brutal honesty. “This is even beyond me.” The Furious Five and Shifu looked up at the massive panda. Another tremor rattled his stomach sending shockwaves through the floor that made them all stumble.
“So… what’s for dinner?” Po asked sheepishly.
In the coming days, the Furious Five worked to find a new place for Po. There was no way he’d fit in the Jade Palace before too long. A wise decision as he became such an immense blob that he’d have filled the main palace floor in two weeks. So jiggly and fat that all his defining features were lost in layers of fur and blubber.
One would have a hard time telling what was what if not for the white and black splotches of fur that covered Po’s body. Although the giant sprawling belly and two giant cheeks opposite them provided plenty of guidance. Easily seen by anyone below the mountain as he grew to be his own peak of sorts.
And yet, despite being cursed with a broken metabolism, Po’s hunger could not be satiated. Resulting in the immense monolith of flab that towered beside the Jade Palace. Far surpassing its dimensions as the shapeless blob had served a new purpose. One that could alleviate his hunger without cutting into the palace’s supply.
“Come one, come all! Come see the dragon-sized Dragon Warrior!” Monkey announced on a platform built before that cliff side of flab Po called a stomach. “Take in all his majesty. Free admission for anyone bringing our beloved blubber panda bear food. Offerings for the Dragon Warrior.” Stairs circled the immobilized Po with support beams sinking into his furry flesh.
Spiraling the monument as Monkey said, guests marveled at how big someone could get. They all knew Po was a big eater but never thought this could happen to him. Still, the journey was worth it to walk up the boardwalk to his head, handing off ‘tributes’ to Mantis and Crane for feeding.
“Open wide.”
“The people have come to feed you.”
Po didn’t need to be told twice as any vittles were swallowed in a single gulp. The rumbling of his body added more flab onto it as he jiggled over the Jade Palace. It wouldn’t be long before a well-placed growth spurt from his incessant eating would cause waves of fat to bring the place crashing down. Which would bring in more people to feed him since who wouldn’t want to see such a fun fattening display.
Of course, being a spectacle like this was embarrassing to say the least. Po couldn’t do a thing apart from watching people come, greeting him or mocking his size. But the endless meals made the humiliation vanish. So long as Po could eat without end, he’d be happy to be a big landmark tourist trap. A bottomless pit that’d soon flood the Valley of Peace with miles of blubber.
Something for future Po to worry about as the Furious Five continued to take care of him.

Well, there's the fact that everything is one word when people like myself tend to separate the words when searchung... also there's the fact that "Kung Fu Panda" isn't tagged, with or without underscores, meaning anyone searching for Kung Fu Panda stuff specifically won't find it.
