The most distinctive visual characteristic of Aurorans is the glowing patterns of bioluminescence set into their fur. These wholly natural patterns caused by psychic currents in the bioelectric field are absent from them at birth. Throughout adolescence the patterns can change and shift but once early adulthood is reached, they no longer change. The pattens they take sometimes seem random and sometimes seem organized, yet they are always significant. The shapes reflect the subconscious of the individual in question with some being more abstract than others.
Kayla Kiriyari has this striking pattern on her back. It shares much with her other markings. Crescent slashes and angular edges dance across her violet fur. Unlike most aurorans, Kayla is less comfortable showing her bare body. This is less about modesty or prudishness, and more about her feeling uncomfortable without some of her light prismaglass armor on. One of the things that makes her a superb soldier makes being socially vulnerable harder: A tactical mind always doing threat assessment that analyzes her environment. Suffice it to say, if you see this pattern on her, you are a trusted individual indeed.
I drew this in CSP using vector layers for the first time and I LOVE THEM. It made designing and fiddling with concept based on simple geometry so much easier. I'm far from a talented artist and struggle to consider myself one at all. What I am encouraged by is how much I enjoy learning and experimenting regardless of the overall value of the end product. February has been a cruel month for me, so I'm also happy that I've used creativity and my love for software to keep making things. My work and project output has fallen drastically, but sometimes tenacity comes from the little things. One thing Kayla and I have in common is that we're goal oriented people who don't give up. Take care everyone and let's hope for a kinder spring full of less awful surprises.
