Alternate version of Batman beyond episode 6 Spellbound in which Spellbinder aka Dr. Ira Billings felt unappreciated in his work as a psychologist at Hamilton Hill high school, prompting him to develop a highly sophisticated device for plunging others into ultra-realistic illusions. Using hypnosis, he sows a wave of robberies targeting the wealthy families of his young patients, whom he then passes off as liars when the police come to see him.
He used this device on Dana Tan to send her into the lion's den by venturing into a dangerous neighborhood under the control of the Jokerz in order to weaken Terry McGinnis, whom Spellbinder had discovered to be Batman.
Dana was neutralized in a deserted and isolated Gotham street controlled by the Jokerz by being securely tied/gagged to a chair, this situation released her from her hypnosis within minutes of being isolated from her kidnappers and she doesn't understand how she ended up in this perilous situation.
