This is a Gray Wolf (Canis lupus) that I needlefelted as an experiment. I wanted to see if I could simulate the layering and coloration of wolf fur, as well as see if I could needlefelt fine details in the paws, a new technique on making tails, and a new way of beading the eyes. Overall he was a great success and I think he's very handsome. He's just around 4 1/2 inches tall from the bottom of his paws to the tip of his ears, and he's right around 8 inches long from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail. I didn't give him a wire armature because I was concentrating on the needlefelting technique itself and sometimes felting around the wire can be frustrating :P
