Like forever ago I did a series of pictures like these. I did all 8 of my cows, part one of my bugs, half of my bunnies, and my DnD characters. Those didn't get much attention so I decided to work on other stuff. But I really wanna get back to headshots of my ocs. I like them. n_n

So here's six of my dog ocs! I have a lot of dog ocs. Dogs are my fav animal in real life but also I just love drawing them. So I have a lot. I chose 6 at random, both newer and older. Here we have Lark the golden retriever / saluki hybrid. Gretchen the king cavalier charles spaniel. Dakota the beagle / saluki mix. Vermouth the shiba inu / volpino mix. Pumpkin the Pug. And Zuza the rottweiler / australian shepherd mix.

OC fun and trivia:

♢ Lark works at a specialized shop with an elderly, kind, rich, eccentric owner. She works at the smoothie and wellness bar which is set up, inexplicably, in a shop with many incredible and high-priced elaborate model trains. The owner put them together as if they were naturally lending to each other in a business. The smoothies are all named after trains and train themes. From the Chugga Chugga Chocolate Swirl to the Railroad Raspberry to the Boxcar Berry Lemonade and more. It's such a weird shop but also oddly charming that it's been featured in a lot of travel tik toks and has gained a weird amount of notoriety.

♢ Lark has a medically alarming bust. Like, it's a health hazard. A lot of the women in her family struggle with this genetic anomaly as well, but usually get cleared by doctors and insurance to get reductions at a young age. But Lark doesn't qualify. She's got a rare blood type and a whole bunch of other health problems, and together they make surgery a very risky endeavor for her poor body. Lark lives that chronic illness life and she's doing her best to survive. Lark is a bit more cranky at her job but overall is a sweet person. She hates most men cause most men are garbage. She eventually dates and marries an oc belonging to my bestie Tizz.

♢ Gretchen is one of my favorite ocs ever. But I talk about her all the time, so I'll leave her be.

♢ Dakota is autistic and goes through long stretches of being non-verbal. She can talk, but she doesn't prefer to. Her voice is very sweet and quiet so she's hard to hear regardless. Dakota is a music therapist and does a lot of work for the community, but likes working in the dementia unit of nursing homes. She was widowed a few years ago when her husband died from chronic health issues. She has 5 kids. She prefers casual open relationships so she can keep helping out at her family farm, doing her work, and being there for her kids. Over the years she's forced to come face to face with her idealistic yet unrealistic expectations and some bad decisions she made. But at the time I draw her she's still full sweet baby delulu. I need to write her character development hjsjkhsd it's on my list I swear.

♢ Vermouth is a bad bitch, but also a reformed bad person. She used to bully her disabled sister a lot, was mean and crass, and even did time for theft and other crimes. She was a piece of shit who never believed she should have to deal with consequences. One night she stole a nice motorbike she wanted, and ended up getting into an accident. She was launched into barbed wire and almost decapitated. After months of intensive care she was able to leave the hospital. The accident took the life of a young child. The accident was no one's fault, but because Vermouth was such a repugnant person, everyone believed she fucked up and got a kid killed. Everyone abandoned her and went no contact, all but her disabled sister and father. She narrowly escaped prison time and decided to turn her life around. Vermouth learns how to be a good person and vows to never let evil happen around her. So she still gets in trouble, but it's for vigilante justice reasons this time. Vermouth lives with her disabled sister Whiskey, and vows to show Whiskey love and kindness every single day in excess after the way she treated her growing up.

♢ Pumpkin the pug actually dated Whiskey, Vermouth's older sister, for years. They broke up but are still friends. Pumpkin hates Vermouth which upsets Vermouth but she also completely gets it. Pumpkin eventually dates Peony, another pug oc owned by my bestie Tizz. Pumpkin is a middle school coach but also works at the same coffee place Whiskey works at. She's a sleepy, irresponsible, snacky, lazy little shit. I love her.

♢ I changed Zuza up a little bit! She's one of my old favorites. I always experimented with the idea that Zuza's super long luxurious hair was her favorite wig. When I got to draw her again after years, I thought it would be fun to give her a more vintage haircut since she has an old vintage soul and style. We'll pretend this is Zuza five years into her relationship with her girlfriend Gillian.

♢ Lark and Gretchen live in the same county. They've met a couple of times before. The smoothie + train shop is about a 25 minute drive from where Gretchen lives.

♢ Vermouth eventually marries a cute badass named Booker Seong'tal. Hyun-Jin's adopted son. Making her an extended member of the spider fam since Hyun-Jin is her mother-in-law. (I know I know very esoteric but if you know my ocs then you know who I'm talking about).
