"The Warriors of the Mounds fear nothing!"
Faebruary: I am very excited to share this monthlong project with you all! Regular viewers of this channel will know that a lot of my creative focus goes into Kroashent, my ongoing fantasy series. There's a ton of background lore for the series, so I thought it might be fun and helpful to run a little project to introduce to viewers new and old, to the characters and creatures of Kroashent, with a twist!
For the month of February (or rather "Faebruary!" I will be posting drawings of the characters of Kroashent as different creatures from Alvez, their world. To begin, these creatures will be the "Tuath", the sapient, social creatures of the world (think the playable species of D&D). (We'll address the beasties and things that go bump in the night in a future project)
Yannic Corentin: A chieftain of the Lethan interior, Yannic's clan was frequently raided by the Marie-Morgane of Ys-Beneath-The-Waves, supplies and captives carried off by the merfolk. Yannic undertook a quest to confront them, leading her to the doorstep of Queen Ahes herself, but in a twist of fate, Yannic joined the Marie-Morgane as their newest sister. Since then the "little hurricane" has proven herself a skilled warrior in defense of the sunken city and her new family.
Bolegueans: The Korrigan of the Tumuli. Guardians of the burial mounds found all across the Armorican Peninsula, the short and stocky Bolegueans are few in number, but strong in power and influence. They serve as seers, advisors and healers for the larger Korrigan communities, arbitrating disputes and enacting justice.

Val's Notes: The Bolegueans, physically, are Kroashent's answer to dwarves, but play the role of community priests, judges and counselors, a social lynchpin uniting the different types of Korrigan together. They travel a circuit between a larger community, rather than having settlements of their own.
With the Forthaves and most of Enora's crew already represented, decided to rework some of the Marie-Morgane with alternate species, starting with the first of them that I drew, Yannic Corentin. I liked the little nod to her canon form on her shield. Her tartan is inspired by the real tartan pattern of the Pays Cournaille (The County of Kernev in Alvez), the location her home is based on.
