Heh, I'm trying to get a piece done for this prompt as well, though I'm sure it'll be overdue.
I'm looking at doing something that takes place, relatively recently, post-first-contact. Indeed, it's following the first human to make said first one-on-one contact, at least as was officially recognized by Earth's governments, as he accompanies a group of the aliens to investigate the remains of one of said alien-race's downed ships.
There's also a bit of the "trying to 'get' each other culturally" situation, though the nods are sci-fi in nature rather than sitcom-y. XD
But anyways, nice work. :)

Sounds like an interesting concept! I can see why you might end up overdue though. Trying to take a serious approach to cultural differences would definitely take a few more pages than mine did!

To be fair first contact could go a lot worse! Though I admit I'm not familiar with that particularly TV show.

It was a TV show from the 50's with Lucille Ball called I Love Lucy. She mostly just cried a lot lol. First contact could go a lot worse, they could all come out singing opera music and nothing else!
