Dollhouse stands tall in the morning cafeteria.
"Nothing like a cup of coffee and a sandwich in the morning sun. I've been underground for so many days, I've lost my senses."
Wolfscuro then talked about the "consequences" of what happened in Playtime's basement. But their conversation was as matter-of-fact as if they were discussing the drama they had watched last week. Despite the fact that they had actually seen the tragedy that took place there.
"Is this the ending them wanted?"
[ You make it sound like I manipulated it. This is a reality show. There supposed to enjoy the reality of not knowing what's going to happen. ]
"That's not convincing given your abilities or the work we do."
[ In the end, the only truth is what there see with your own eyes and the results that remain. Well, there is the possibility of 'starting over' if another scenario is desired. Besides, they are many more scenarios that could be created in that place. Such as the escape story on the day of the uprising, or the documentation of the experimental facility and orphanage that preceded it. ]
"They are pathetic. They can go back to hell as many times as they want. Well, they don't know that, and it's none of my job."
This came about during a conversation I had with
Meschenitz about a crossover between Stagehands and Poppy Playtime.
The scene is a conversation between the Stagehands after witnessing Meschenitz's suggestion of a scenario in which the player died in the middle of the game and Poppy's revenge was not successful.
The emphasis here is on the disconnect between the many toys in the basement and the Stagehands' perceptions.
Even after witnessing the tragedy that took place before their eyes, their reactions are still dry, and they go back to their normal lives above ground. Even in Dollhouse's final lines, he does not really pity them. He is only focused on his own hardships, enjoying the earthly freedom they had hoped for without a care in the world.
The Stagehands are strangers to their suffering, and unlike them, they are always safe and able to come and go from this place. On the contrary, they could be their saviors and destroyers by manipulating space-time, but stagehands choose to ignore their pain and fear and turn it into entertainment like a reality show.
I really like Stagehands' position, which is terribly blasphemous and black joke to the parties involved!
