Idk man. I don't know why people even use lights at night. Just navigate by touch and kinesthetics. Given practice, it allows you to maintain your lack of conscious presence. It's all a dream, after all.

Arguably, both habit and kicking things "sneaking around" in the dark teaches them to put on the light so they can see. At least nightlights can help with the latter.

It might be better if, after retiring for the night, lights could shine yellow or amber and dimmer until dawn. They say that glare is mainly blue after all.

That probably would be best. After all, there's a program that changes your computer's monitor like that when darkness rolls around, and I'm pretty sure there's actual lights like that out on the market. However, the sticking point is that we typically don't think of it when in a position to go get some nightlights and lightbulbs, assuming there's a good selection in our area in the first place.
