When the rebels evacuate the base, Flash retains control of it, to aid in her contact with the swamp people, while the robot boards the enemy ship, planning to override its controls.

Flash leaves through a portal burnrd into the Great Tree over the base. After using a trick Utha had implanted in her memory, she meets an ancient Swamp woman named Milly and her pet.

Flash Speaks the unspeakable name, and lives.

Flash informs the Swamp people their leader still lives, and gifts them with the massive cache of weapons and supplies in the evacuated base.
She also shows what happened to the invading troops.

Atuna interrupts Flash during the retrieval of the goods from the base with welcome news.
The Swamp people find two revered artifacts they bring with them.

Milly’s enormous pet fails to recognize her in her rejuvenated form when she and the others leave. Time is lost while the countdown to the base’s destruction looms.

Finally, back at the camp Flash witnesses the rebel base's destruction from a safe vantage point. She vows to the swamp people to free their leader, Caliban, from Ming’s clutches.

After a night of partying, The leaders of the Swamp tribes gather to plan strategy with Flash, plus the leaders of the rebellion via secret radio.

After parts of the plan are criticized, Flash reveals that she has surprises that will overcome the objections. Then she leaves with the robot to setup one of the surprises before the attack on Ming the next day.
