It’s been a long time. Frustration and dissatisfaction with using Photoshop, coupled with a tablet I really didn’t get along with, meant that I gave up art for a few years. Since my wife got me an iPad two Christmases ago after seeing how well I got on using hers, I’ve really got back into the swing of it and hopefully I can start to use this account more.
Let’s start off with some fan art for The Raccoons, a series that started me on the path to becoming a furry long before I knew what one was. I only saw one episode as a young child and had no idea what it was but it left a big impact on me. Towards the end of last year I watched the entire series for the very first time (having previously seen the first two series on DVD and select episodes online), along with my wife who had never seen any of the show. To celebrate us both loving the show I drew her a picture of Cyril Sneer, our favourite character, but recently I decided to revisit the canvas and ended up drawing as many major characters as I reasonably could. I added a few of my own touches to some of the designs, subtly altering colours or how their fur is styled to make everyone stand out a little more. I love how they turned out and maybe some time I’ll get more art done for the series? We’ll have to see…
