Yep.. as the old starcraft, there will be a campaign for each faction.. i hope that more will be explained about the Protoss's life.
We know a bit thanks the books, but not so much..
To be honest i could have enjoyed a campaign with Artanis as main protagonist.. but Zeratul isn't a bad choice... still i hope to see some SelendisXArtanis XD

so far Blizzard speculates that you will play as Zeratul and have to make choices between which tribes you ally with forcing you to anger some and have to choose what units to bring to the field. I am personally a Terran fan (obviously) but i think the protoss expansion will be the best campaign of all the expansions by the way i like your style of art it is rather intresting.

But i think that maybe in the Zerg and Protoss campaign there will can be some mission with other factions (as we had 4 protoss mission in the Wings of Liberty)
Maybe they will not be so many... or maybe there will be possibilty to use two different factions in the final missions as the old Starcraft game..

Raynor will play a part in the zerg expansion without a doubt and i truly hope he will also play a part in the protoss expansion but both are far from actually coming out but i must agree I enjoy the lore much more then multiplayer but i do play against other people online. I personally hope that the UED reenters one of the campaigns as i liked them in brood war. btw which books do you own?

If i remember well one of the mercenaries avaible in Wings of liberty, the one with Goliath is described as ex-DTU ..
Sadly i've only few books, the one with Heaven's Devils and the one about the past of Mengsk .. in my country will be arrive also the second one about Heaven's Devils (then there are also the collection of manga comics, the series of Ghost Accademy, and the american-comic about Pigs of War)
You can read in english Starcraft - The Dark Templar Saga, a series written by Christie Golden, if you want know more about Protoss..

I know the Spartan's Company is ex UED but i dislike the fact that much of the expansion to the first game is how the battle in the Starcraft universe is affected by the incoming of another powerful Terran faction but this faction is pushed out and far away and never to be seen again, but oh well. I have read all the books you mentioned except the Ghost academy, and the bulk of the american-comics, but i think i would have to advise you read the Starcraft archive book which is four in one but i personally preferred Starcraft Queen of Blades which which does a good job seeing from a perspective of all three races. Otherwise there is Starcraft Ghost Nova which has a decent story but is much an outlier to the other books. (these are all in English btw not sure on translations)

I will wait a bit for some italian translations XD or i will try to search something in english..
The american comics are mostly focused on Terrans.. not bad, but i don't like a lot the drawing style.
Instead i like a lot Ghost Accademy the manga.. it's about Nova as something-more-then-teen and Tosh and other character.... Tosh is more cool and friendly as character rather then in the game..
And still concerning about manga there are two interesting things about Terrans.... the young Colin (that seems to be one of the most interesting human with psi-abilities) and the canon story of the Jim Raynor period with wife and a child on Mar Sara... and i've serious doubts about the ending.. i hope that something else will be explained--

I understand what you mean concerning the monga with Colin and Jim. I also think you should look into reading Starcraft Nova just to see her background and how she became a ghost in the Terran Dominion. Starcraft two makes more sense once you read the second Heaven's Devils which name escapes me right now. It shows why Jim Raynor trusts Tycus as he does in Wings of Liberty. Over all it is a great book but not quite the same as Heaven's Devils.
