This is part forty three of a series of images followed by stories that follow Warren, a human. And Alice, a Tordenchi. As they both survive during the Rynar's invasion of earth.
Before you read, there is some... Sad news... The official UTO Discord was recently Archived by Hetzer. And after seeing people joining a plethora of different servers, I've managed to find a server I'll support for the coming time. It wouldn't help at all if everyone was on a half dozen servers, so if you like my content and want to know more/read other stories by others like me, please do join this discord!

Tyrant's Reign
Progress had been steady, and by some miracle, uneventful. We'd put a bit of distance behind us, but now the weather was starting to worry me. It had only gotten worse and the visibility was starting to be a problem.
Thankfully the heater was keeping me warm, and to be honest, the last hour had been utter bliss given everything that had happened.
With nothing else to do my thoughts drifted to the question I’d been procrastinating over.
How was I going to explain her to the convoy? What could I possibly say that would convince them she was friendly? Would they even believe me?
Stealing a glance at her I could only frown, remembering how our first interaction went.
I still wasn't sure, but I needed one, and soon. It wouldn't be long before catching up with Zeta-mobile.
At first, it was just a sprinkle of snow, glazing over the ground, easily crushed under the wheels of the truck. But as time passed, the truck began sputtering. With the gas running on empty, I knew it was only a matter of time before-
Suddenly, the engine stopped.
"No! Not now!"
I felt it before I saw it.
Slowing to barely five miles an hour, the truck was slowly shifting to the right. The giant would glance down curiously as I sighed begrudgingly and opened the truck door.
Only then did the wind pick up, swinging the truck door wide open as I scooted out.
"Bloody road is iced!"
I shouted up, covering my face as the wind whipped me. Always hated the weather in the States, but this felt unnatural. I could barely hear a squeak from the giant as my ears flooded with cascading wind.
Finally, the truck slid to the other side of the road, soon embedding itself in a rain ditch. I swung the truck door wide open as I scooted out. The bitter cold hit my lungs and knocked the air out of me, leaving me gasping for a moment to adjust to the chilling flash freeze. Struggling to find my voice, I called out to the giant while covering my face.
"C'mon dammit..! Don't have time for this!"

I'm a new commenter here, but I just wanted to let you know that I love this series from the few times I checked in on it! I hope this is going where I think it's going, and that Alice is going to have to keep Warren alive using her body heat, and carry him now that the truck's probably wrecked.
Presumably she'll be holding him against her chest or something, but I dearly wish to see a scene where she puts Warren in her mouth instead, to shelter him from the snow and keep her hands free to help with balance. Perhaps she'd start by using her breath to see if he's OK with being warmed like that?
It would be a really cool contrast to the Part 9 scene, by showing that Warren is learning to trust Alice, and how Alice is learning to be gentle with Warren - it will definitely test their bond thus far, too. That's just my thoughts, but I hope you'll consider a scene like that!
