Merist was supposed to have been the healer of her village, but when it was discovered that her magical powers were far greater than what would be required as a village healer, she was quickly pressed into the service of Tatalia.
Heroes of Might and Magic III is a great game and Merist is one of the best Fortress heroes because she knows the improved stone skin spell and also gains experience faster than others. And if this character learns at least Expert Earth Magic, Expert Air Magic and Expert Intelligence, then with the right spells you will get a powerful buffer and debuffer. Which, combined with the high defense of the Fortress, makes the army under the command of Merist very enduring.
