Nice drawing. I love how you use gods and goddesses from cultures we don't hear about very often especially Native American cultures. Have you done any Slavic or Asian goddesses?

If I haven't done any Slavic goddesses, I know I will eventually. I've done several Asian ones (Benten and Butcho are Japanese, for example, and Byul-soon is Korean.)

That's right. I remember now. BTW, did you know that there was an anime show in which Benten made an occasional appearance? She was friends with the female protagonist who was an Oni.

Yes, it's my favorite anime series. It's called "Urusei Yatsura". You can only watch it online now because the company that imported the DVDs stopped distributing them about 10 years ago. I'm lucky in that I've got all the TV series, movies, and OVAs that were ever made of the show.

I love "Urusei Yatsura"! I remember Benten now -- I haven't seen it in decades. Fortunately, I have a couple DVDs. I believe the rough translation of the title is "Noisy People from Another Planet You Don't Want to Live Next To."

I asked a Japanese man that used to work with me and he said it translates into "Obnoxious Aliens". Of course, he wasn't from Tokyo and the words could have a different meaning there.

One of my mother's grandmothers was a Cherokee medicine woman. Her family name (and totem animal) was Fox.
