Dude, everything after your first comma is not true. Source: I'm American, you are Canadian. Cops don't work for a system that wants to destroy lgbt people, they work for a system that, over all, wants to punish criminals.
I know posting cringe is part of the Canadian culture, but take it from someone who is in a long-standing gay relationship, and also American: The very vast majority of cops in America do not hate LGBT people in the slightest. They monitor events like pride parades because they have to do that for EVERY large event to be able to quickly respond to issues that can flare up in large crowds.

That, and it kinda goes without saying that without the legal system or its enforcers, there would be difficulty deterring the kinds of psychos that want to commit genuine hate crimes against us from doing so.
