A few years ago a new lifeform was created..the Lhi'aan race. The first was none other thanModel #757-Omega. Here in his origin and creation you can see what he really is...a machine. Developed for the one experiment...a machine that acts and feels as an organic. he can eat, sleep, laugh, cry, love, and yet he lacks the one thing that separates him from the ones he loves...a soul. This machine programmed with free will and yet he does not have the ability to pass on..when he dies he is remade here in the same way, stronger than before , and growing stronger, correcting previous flaws in his design that he would never die the same way again. Death cannot stop him...nothing can stop him. The immortal machine. Bound to earth and never a stept toward heaven or hell. This is the existance and the life of Omega.

Most likely but he has christian friends..he does beleive in god and belive that organics have souls...just not him because he's diffrent and there are at times where he wishes he could have a soul. Sometimes he wishes he can be dead permanantly and get to see heaven...imagine if you were him and every time you died you would reawake in the chamber...that is basically your vision of immortality..to die and come back in the same body..though slightly upgraded...
true and as for magic..both he and his creator gamma hate magic..their mission in life is to rid the universe of magic and rise an age of science..though religion they do respect...especially christiaity..Gamma himself is a christian and omega dispite not having a soul still reads the bible and lives by it as a protocol in his programing..and he actually chose that.
well think of it..magic is witchcraft and the bible is against that kind of thing...that is why they like science because it can be proven..and as for God they beleive because they came to the conclusion that when they do pray..the things they ask for such as strength and healing come to them and what they do not get it is either not yet or not meant for you...they try to live day by day. So in other words it is not a tragedy..just a journey.
You have to make a character the exact opposite of him named "Alpha."
Also being a machine, he/she has the same exact qualities as Omega, except he/she has the one thing Omega doesn't, a soul.
Made originally from a being, (Whom that is, is for you to decide), he/she already knew much of what truly being alive.
Being a prototype, he/she was preforming well until faced with a challenge the soul could not handle. (Senseless violence or some other force.)
Then, due to the failure of the robot to meet their ideals, scientists lock up the creation and deemed it to be failure.
Being locked away for [Insert Time], the world forgot about the robot.
However, someone or something rediscovers it and activates the creation.
Hostile at first, (Due to being left to rust away), the bot becomes corrupt and begins to bounce out of it's programming, creating a true AI.
Then, the robot encounters the same problem as before and returns to normal, but retains the AI.
Then, it searches for what truly happened to it and questions its existance.
After that, it meets Omega and things can go from there.

Gamma: But see that is why I don't breed them is because unlike organics these are immortals..they can never die by aging or disease and if they die they come back, if they were to breed then population would be out of control and there could be no stopping it...organics die off for the population to even out...Lhi'aans are diffrent..imagine if immortals bred...given a few thousand years the world would be overpopulated and since they cannot truly die then basically life would be hell.
