I did have plans to explain my inactivity for the last 2 weeks, but that will have to wait. Right now there are more pressing matters to attend to.
Obviously I do not agree with a block system that would prevent both parties from seeing each other's work, I think it would be bad for the site and the community on this site, as it would discourage communication and likely drive people away; and that's just the primary reason, there are many other reasons that I will list in a document that I will eventually post, once I know how to present it in a formal, yet simple and concise manner. There are those who agree that the block system should be like this, and there are others who don't, and since the new leader, Sciggles, opened a can of worms by saying that such a system is in the works, regardless of whether or not this change occurs, there will likely be conflict between the two opposing sides.
And it's not like I'm just sitting here watching the whole thing unfold, I'm getting my hands dirty and made an effort to reason with her saying that there would be many ramifications to such a change and that there are alternatives. I also pointed out that just because a bunch of people who sent in trouble tickets asking for, what I am going to call, a MAD doctrine block system, doesn't necessarily mean that the majority of users want such a change, and the result is a sample bias. I told her that a more accurate way to gauge how many people actually want the block system to be this way would be to present it as a proposition to the community and have people vote on whether or not such a system should be implemented. If the majority of people want a MAD doctrine block system, implement it, and if not, don't; however, she wouldn't hear me out and as far as I am aware, this will be implemented regardless of whether or not the majority of people agree with it.
Finally, I would like to ask that if you also believe that a block system that prevents both parties from viewing each other's work would be bad, especially if it is implemented without the consent of the majority, then spread the word to people and inform them of what is going on and start sending messages to staff asking them to reconsider or at least hold a vote.
