Well, it's been a while since I actually published anything. I apologize for the delay. In any case, this is the last chapter for the "beginning". After this, I can basically take this ANY DIRECTION ANYONE WANTS! So please, leave a comment below if you have an idea of where you want this to go. Also, if you like this story, PLEASE share it with others. I really need the publicity! :(
I apologize in advance for how choppy this chapter is. It was written over a period of weeks.

Are we putting up a wall,
Or are we BREAKING IT DOWN!!!!
I was there when it happened
This screaming and clapping tonight
And this love that I’ve heard of
So easily stirred up tonight.
Chapter 5: Federation of United Remorphed Residents and Youth
By the time Ryan and Richard made their way downstairs, everyone had moved to their usual business. Tyler, Jacob, and Cameron were watching TV, Indigo was writing down something in a journal, and Andray was starting to cook something for dinner at the stove. “Hey guys,” said Richard, “Sorry for scaring everyone out of their wits. We had no idea it was so loud.” “Look, I promise never to bring it up again if you don’t,” said Indigo, “Just give everyone a heads-up next time before you decide to go completely animal on us.”
“Speaking of animal,” said Jacob, “Has anyone figured out what we’re going to do about going outside? I mean, we’re walking, talking wild animals!”
“I was going to ask about that eventually,” said Indigo. “The thing is… I have school tomorrow.”
“…And you’re telling us this why?”
“Because I don’t have a car. I just borrow my mom’s to get groceries from time to time.”
“Actually, I can’t drive either,” said Ryan, “But I don’t have a job, so it’s not much of a problem.”
“So let me get this straight,” said Jacob, “You’re saying we’re all screwed?”
“That’s why I diverted the subject,” said Indigo, “But to put it simply, yes. To put it in a physics term, we’re all attached to an object by an inclined plane wrapped helically around an axis. (Big Bang Reference!)” Jacob was severely confused by this. “He said we’re screwed,” explained Ryan. Jacob then started pacing around the room angrily. “**** this. We’re all ****ing furries and there’s nothing we can do about it. Son of a ****ing *****. There has to be a way for us to go outside without animal control putting us down!” This hadn’t occurred to anyone else. Everyone started thinking of a solution. “What about a press conference?” said Ryan, “If everyone knows then they won’t freak out, right?”
“Yeah, but how would we go about doing that? A, we need to actually find a way to put one together, and B, how are we going to run that by Mr. Suit and Tie? This isn’t exactly supposed to be common knowledge, you know.”
“But if we don’t, then his precious little experiment goes out the window.”
By the time they had found the phone number General Andrew left them (It was on a business card shoved in Jacob’s pocket), the general was aware of the situation. They had the call on speaker. “We’ve set you up with a press conference this afternoon. Although I’d like to keep this classified, we can’t contain you under normal constitutional rights. So our only option is to go public but say as little as humanly possible. I’ll be answering all the questions, all of you just have to sit there and look pretty.”
“So what do we do in the meantime?” asked Tyler.
“What do I look like, your mom? Figure it out yourselves!”
Eventually they did. Indigo eventually went upstairs to start organizing his notes and preparing equipment to run tests, while the others simply watched TV. “I have to ask, what is up with that kid?” asked Jacob, “I mean, is it me, or does he have a screw loose or something? All he’s ever done is talk about what happened. It’s like he can only focus on that.”
“At least he’s actually being efficient with his time,” said Ryan, “Meanwhile we’re all sitting down here watching TV.”
“Oh come on, even you have to admit that’s kind of weird.”
“Okay, so he’s weird. What’s so bad about that?”
“He’s creeping me out! That’s all.”
“If you’re all done poking fun at the kid,” interrupted Andray, “dinner’s ready.” He walked to the staircase. “Indigo, hun? Dinner’s ready!”
After dinner everyone got dressed in their best clothes for the press conference. What everyone found out were three things:
1. Their clothes could hardly fit them anymore due to their enormous growth spurt.
2. They were extremely hot and itchy now that they were covered in fur.
3. Their tails weren’t going to fit through the clothing.
Their first two problems they were just going to have to suck up and deal with. The third, however, was a little more urgent. Nobody could get a pair of pants on! Eventually, Andray cut a small hole in the back of everyone’s pants to fit their tail through, and after some difficulty shoving their tail through, everyone was ready. Outside, workmen were setting up a stage for the press conference. General Andrew was there, apparently still wearing the same suit as always, or perhaps an identical one, going over note cards for what he would be saying for the conference. Meanwhile, Cameron was freaking out. “I can’t believe it. My first time on TV and I’m going to look like a freak! I can’t even get in bring myself to get in a regular photo! What the heck am I going to do?”
“Relax,” said Indigo, patting him on the back, “It’s really not a big deal. I’ve been up on stage a whole bunch of times. Once they get the lights in your face you won’t be able to see past the first three rows.”
“You’ve been on stage?”
“Yeah. I’m a professional actor.”
“You’ve been PAID?!?”
“About three times now, actually. But I’ve been in about 30 or so productions. Remind me to tell you about it sometime.”
“Wait, wait, wait. How old are you exactly?”
“Seventeen.” He walked up on the stage and took a seat. Everyone was starting to gather around the podium. Cameron and the others soon followed. Cameras were soon flashing uncontrollably when the even hit the stage. Everyone was throwing out questions wildly. “What the heck are those things?” “Are they animals or are they people?” “What’s with the kid with them?” “Are they some kind of new pet? I wonder if I could get one for my daughter.” General Andrew stepped up to the microphone. After it gave off a protest of feedback from a couple of taps, General Andrew began.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to begin my statement by looking back at an event that occurred only 24 hours ago, the six victims of the lightning strike. What caused the strikes to occur is unknown at this point in time, but we have contained and treated the six victims to the best of our ability. I am now here to re-introduce you to those six victims.” The press went wild at this point. “We do not know what happened to the victims to cause this unnatural physical change, but we do believe that it is connected to the lightning strikes that occurred yesterday. We are here today to simply inform the general public of what has occurred to the six victims since the initial strike. At this time we are not ready to reveal details of the event, but we will say that they are mentally stable and are not a danger to the general public.”
“Mr. Andrew, sir,” said one reporter, “Who is the child sitting with the six victims?”
“Thank you!” said Indigo, “What AM I doing here?”
“The child was a key witness in the event and we are currently questioning him for details on the event. That is all,” said Andrew.
“Can you give us any details on what might have happened during the strike?” asked another reporter.
“We are not yet ready to reveal specific details of the event,” said Andrew.
“Really?” said Indigo, jumping out of his seat, “I just recently put together a map of the initial strikes and it shows that each strike happened approximately 1.5 miles from an adjacent strike in a PERFECT HEXAGON!”
“What?” said Andrew as the press went nuts. At that point everyone was in an uproar. Reporters were shouting questions at Indigo at this point, grilling him for more information. “That’s all I’ve been able to find out at the time, I only had a few hours to research,” said Indigo, pushing Andrew out of the way and taking the podium for himself, “But I’ve had about enough of these mysterious patterns and animals and whatnot. I intend to get to the bottom of this, singlehandedly if I have to. We will find out what happened to these six victims and if all goes well we might even be able to unravel the mysteries of the human genome in the process.”
“I’ve got something to say too,” said Richard. Indigo backed off and let him take the podium. “I don’t know what happened, but don’t think we’re a bunch of freaks just because we look like animals. We’re just the same people we were before and we only ask you treat us the same way.”
“Do you have a name for your group?” asked one reporter. Everyone looked at each other. They hadn’t considered themselves a group, much less a name for it. “I’ve got it,” said Indigo, “The Federation of… United Remorphed Residents… and Youth.”
“So, wait… wait, you’re saying that you’re-”
“Yes. We are F.U.R.R.Y.”
And I'll just sell myself out again here... please comment, favorite, subscribe, tell your friends and/or send in any ideas you have about the story to help me out!

nice read, though i skipped the adult chapter to give some short critiques here. a few things for nte here, is that while writing a story, please do not include your comments in it. It is rather unneccessary. another note is not to use point forms; you are not writing a summary. i suggest adding a little more description about actions or the locations to your story.
well,i'm not here to lecture you. i've enjoyed reading these so far, and even though i had to reread almost every sentence once or twice to understand what you intended for us to, it was worth reading. :D sure, you're lacking some writing skills, short of this and that, but no one is good at everything. alright, imma go read that adult part now. :D

Critique is always accepted here. It makes the story better. Yeah, I know I tend to ramble on a bit, but I like to get my point across. I'll probably put it at the bottom from now on so people don't have to read it if they don't want to. And a bad habit of mine is that I don't do very well when describing locations. Actions though, I thought I did better in that department.
Thank you so much for the critique AND the watch! I hope you'll continue reading and I should (hopefully) have the next chapter up tomorrow. One thing I hate is being slow with updates (which I have NOT been good with lately. God I'm turning into LittleKuriboh!)
