They slowed down enough to open the door
And throw me out on the forest floor
Then sped away without looking back
--They didn't need me anymore
I never knew these woods weren't blurred
It took getting discarded in the dirt
And slowing down at every Tree
To see things were more than what they were.
Another Car I might have tried
Drove past and scared me to the side
I watched it leave--making a decision;
Unable to Decide.
There was nothing around--as far as I knew
And I had Miles and Miles to go
Whether I went forward or back
--I stood looking up the Road.
Thousands of People had passed here before
What did the World need another one for?
I never regretted the way I went
I only wished that I'd known a little more
And throw me out on the forest floor
Then sped away without looking back
--They didn't need me anymore
I never knew these woods weren't blurred
It took getting discarded in the dirt
And slowing down at every Tree
To see things were more than what they were.

Why must so many feel isolated and obscure?
A creature of creation, an extension of the void,
Why must lost specs of star dust, yearn to be destroyed?
Are they not happy? Born to wonder and explore?
Why do they not see,
The beauty in individuality,
In community,
In themselves,
And even more?
Obscure asked the mortal for thought...
Loved the poem! Amazing work!
