A poorly funded pre-Great War expedition to a forgotten valley in Egypt finds the expeditions widowed secretary doing the work of someone else, in this case piecing together the fragments of a papyrus with interesting concepts on it. Her predecessor, having come to miss his favorite pub in North Hampshire simply walked away two weeks ago and being the only other native English speaker in the camp she was pulled from her cushy job handling all the reports, inventorys and correspondence (basically anything doing with writing) to this, late night jigsaw puzzles.
Behind her, in the darkness a native has come to visit and she isn't there for a simple late night chat. Oh dear, is our peaceful night about to be filled with dark rich English blood? Stay tuned, same Bat time, same Bat channel.
Another story I have to dig in the CD archives for.

Ted told me he based the blade on one he already owned. It's probably in some fat brain dead Police Officers private collection now.
