I conceived Chakat Sunbeam as a social worker in charge of providing legal and emotional advice and support to those who need it. Shi is not exactly a lawyer, although shi knows the law. And shi is not a therapist either, but as a good Chakat, shi is able to feel empathy for the situation of others.

Hir name, Sunbeam, is very symbolic for the story. In Spanish it translates as "ray of sun", and represents a ray of hope for people like Brend, who have been imprisoned due to their crimes.

What Sunbeam did not expect was that hir little son Cashir, a Khudok fan, would become so fond of Brend. And it was also a surprise that Brend, this surly and solitary giant renzar, felt so much affection for the little Chakat in reciprocity.
So much so, that Brend decided to try to return to the Khudok tournament thanks to Cashir's insistence, naming him as his "boss".

Brend knows that the sanctions provided for in the Khudok regulations are temporary for a case like his, so he prepares to give his best, this time, far from the bad practices of the past.

Cashir is happy. So is hir mother Sunbeam.
Brend is reconciled again with the peaceful nature that every renzar possesses.
