Nice looking ball python, I have 3 myself, 2 adolescent and 1 young adult. I also have in my care 3 Garter snakes, and 3 corn snakes(1 adolescent and 2 hatchlings). They are all great fun to handle and watch.
Sorry to hear that he passed away. If you plan on getting another i might be able to give some pointers.

ok.
you realise. that your snake will get to be 25 ft long.
live for 35 years. weight like 300 lbs.
need a small room for it's own cage, may, or may not become lethal. and require heating pads, full spectrum lights, and food, all of which will cost money.
If you are confident you can provide for a burm then go for it, but don't go into it, any less than 100%
also, if you get a rescute, get a baby! cause it's when they're most impressionable, and you can make sure the little tyke starts out right. also, you get to take pics of the little squirmy guy, and show pics fifteen years later, of the little squirmer, when he's huge!
zoo's don't generally want to take your pythons so, if you want the snake please, be sure you want it.

hah.
that there on mah head, is a ball python. rarely gets more than ...six feet long. and maybe fourty pounds.
it's doubtful that it will ever grow so large as to not fit in a shopping bag...nor burst it. there are tons of other lovely, snakes, burms get much larger. but balls, stay pretty....reasonably sized.
