"The Well of Ferns is under my protection. Consider your next step wisely, it may be your last."
Faebruary: I am very excited to share this monthlong project with you all! Regular viewers of this channel will know that a lot of my creative focus goes into Kroashent, my ongoing fantasy series. There's a ton of background lore for the series, so I thought it might be fun and helpful to run a little project to introduce to viewers new and old, to the characters and creatures of Kroashent, with a twist!
For the month of February (or rather "Faebruary!" I will be posting drawings of the characters of Kroashent as different creatures from Alvez, their world. To begin, these creatures will be the "Tuath", the sapient, social creatures of the world (think the playable species of D&D). (We'll address the beasties and things that go bump in the night in a future project)
Melusine: The Markizez of Coglais, Melusine is a noblewoman sworn to protect the Duchy from outside threats, acting as the castellan of a number of castles along the border with the Duchy of La Manche. A loyal retainer of the Ermine claimant, Dugez Janed I, Melusine possesses a great secret...
Margot: The Margot, the Korrigan of the Wells, are a serpentfolk tuath, dedicated to the protection of freshwater river sources, wells and fountains. Some margot have horns. These individuals are called Itron al Lenn and often fill in roles as druids, oracles and priestesses, possessing the ability to experience non-linear time as visions. The margot, resembling the demons as described in the dogma of the Faith, are often feared a vilified.

Val's Notes: Its somewhat ironic, that Melusine's "alternate" form for Faebruary is actually closer to her inspiration than her "canon" one. Melusine is a figure from European folklore, a noblewoman who is secretly a shapeshifting dragon, lamia or mermaid, the tragic reveal of which tears apart the happy life of the characters in the story. She often takes on the role of a guardian in these stories, and it is that role that our Melusine draws from, a badass warrior woman and major powerhouse.
