Rateater was picked up on the market by one of the space stations, as a silly slime-like flesh designed to facilitate cleaning on the ship. At that time, it literally fit into a small toolbox, which was quite convenient. The flesh really did a good job of being a small cleaner, absorbing many organic remains well. The nickname Rat-eater was given because the flesh too often crawled into the ventilation, and the ship's rats got stuck and served as a common treat.
The moment when the Rat-Eater gained something resembling intelligence was lost, just like the time it took for the Rat-Eater to grow to a human-like size. The rat-eater is still living flesh, but in order to frighten his teammates less, he took on a universal form for himself. Although walking upright is difficult for him, especially due to the lack of bones, but thanks to a spacesuit and a specially built skeleton (which is actually an ordinary wire.) It can simulate a normal step. But he regularly gets out of his spacesuit in order to get through where he shouldn't be...
For the most part, he idles around, keeps an eye on others, but at the same time tries to hold on to his independence. Out of boredom, he often begins to annoy others and mess with them. One minute he will start snapping for no apparent reason, then he will get out of the ventilation, then without warning he will attack another person from behind in a playful manner. He prefers to communicate by sounds: chirping, clicking, meowing; or by gestures, although he understands speech perfectly and can speak on his own. In his opinion, he is unlikely to say anything without an important reason. Although I am ready to do anything for the sake of my simple ones.
