Skipper the Mew's just hanging out on the hiking path boulevard, challenging random trainers to battles because he gets a real kick from getting the snot kicked out of him. But more than that, not getting the snot kicked out of him. Most folks pass by, but when he meets an actual trainer, the excitement explodes and fire ignites in their eyes.

Jamie is no exception. Despite only having an Odytt, Dabby, they have a relatively unique style of battling where his Pokemon transforms him into a more appropriate battle form and he's the one on the field with Dabby calling the shots. Inverse trainer/Pokemon relationship. Neither of them mind; Dabby hates getting hit and Jamie likes the rush.

Boy, was Skipper excited to actually be taking on a human in a battle. The two of them agreed to forego techniques and abide to what Skipper called "Chifray Rules". Not nearly as flashy, as it was barebones kicks, punches, and grabs, but still a spectacle by itself. So they fought, with a gathering audience of Skipper's friends, Amber the Odytt, Leon the Rattata, and Searver the Searver (he's too proud of himself to have a name).
