Von Lycaon fails his mission due to an ambush!

The clicks of robotic legs rung out in the Hollow as Lycaon headed towards a coordinate given to him by a client. His usual calm demeanor was set on his face as he strolled through the distorted cityscape. He could smell a powerful Ethereal nearby, different from all the trash he dispatched of with a kick or two. He sighs as he elects to hurry to finish his job, picking up the pace.

Finding the target Cargo Box, Lycaon works to open it up to verify its contents when he felt a powerful force crash into his side, knocking him and the box away. Picking himself up, Lycaon looked to what ambushed him—a huge, imposing white Hati, coldly looking in his direction. The beast Ethereal lets out a soul piercing howl, summoning a pack of smaller Hati, and before Lycaon could react, the leader dove forward, slashing towards Lycaon with its foreclaws. Lycaon grunted as he threw his leg up to defend from the claws, but they collided with a much harder force than he realized, sending him off balance. He groaned in pain as the beast smashed its tail into his head, sending him careening to the ground.

Before Lycaon could pick himself up, the smaller Hati leapt onto him and began gnawing at Lycaon with their jaws. The wolf Thiren groaned in pain as he felt the repeated forces crush his upper body and limbs. He tries to pull his arms out to punch one, but at that moment, the Hati flung him up into the air. Still dazed from the biting assault, Lycaon tries to right himself to kick, but what he was greeted with instead was a pounce from the alpha, smashing its foreclaws into his chest, sending him down into a wall.

Cratering into it some, Lycaon groaned in pain as his vision grew blurry, trying to pull himself out. He needed to escape fast, but the Hati wouldn't let him. Diving headfirst into Lycaon's gut, the Thiren nearly upchucked as he felt the heads smash deep into the pit of his stomach. The Hati pulled away, and the alpha bit into Lycaon's leg, forcing him out of the wall and back onto the floor. Hitting the ground with a thud, Lycaon groaned as he held his stomach, coughing violently. Staggering up, Lycaon tried to head towards the exit, but before he could get far, one of the smaller Hati grabbed his leg with its jaws and twisted, forcing Lycaon back onto the unforgiving flooring. It was joined by other Hati in grabbing Lycaon's arms, and they held him down, just so the alpha could jump on.

Lycaon's eye widened from the force, before being forced shut as the alpha struck into his head with its powerful claws. His body spasmed in pain as the hits began to overwhelm the Thiren. And just when he thought it was over, as the alpha jumped off, the smaller Hati forced him up with a throw. Disoriented and woozy, he barely saw the silhouette of the monstrous Ethereal run in and, spinning about, drove a pair of powerful hind legs right into the solar plexus. Lycaon wheezed in pain as he was sent flying back, landing on the ground with a grunt.

As he tried to pull himself up, he saw the pack of monsters surround him, as if daring him to try to get up. With a groan, he collapsed back, fainting from all the pain he had endured. The Hati sniffed at him, circling him to make sure he wasn't getting back up before letting out a howl of victory, the alpha standing on top of the Thiren as it did so. Before the alpha could go and finish Lycaon off, they heard another team enter the Hollow and approaching the location, loudly talking and drawing the attention. More interested in conscious prey, the pack moved out, leaving the wolf laid out on the ground, unconscious.

It took a brief moment before a Proxy's Bangboo discovered Lycaon's unconscious form, upon which they took him out of the Hollow, and back to Victoria Housekeeping to be nursed back to health.
