today im excited to present a new character! ive been having this character drafted for almost a few months now: an axolotl! so really this represents my first properly 'furry' character in a few years, unless of course you count worms or amoebas
i dont have a name for her yet, but, yes, the axolotl is a 'her'!
this of course takes place in the only remaining native axolotl habitat, lake xochimilco, mexico city! fun fact, the word 'axolotl' comes from the native 'nahuatl' language, where the more native pronunciation is actually more 'ash-shull-lot'
the original sign doesnt have the coat of arms on the mexican flag for some reason, so really it looks more like the italian flag. because of that, i decided to re-add it. hopefully that works
i originally sketched this on new years eve at a different angle, similar to this, but due to me forgetting to save my work at the time, i lost the original sketch which discouraged me from wanting to work on this for about a month. im glad i got back to it though!
