TRANSCRIPT

Day 127 - February 8th, 2741

Today could've gone better.

It was early morning, I was walking a bit off the road when I noticed I had two people tailing me. I picked up the pace, but they did as well. From a distance, they looked to be traveling light, while I was lugging around more stuff than both of them. I sensed they didn't have good intentions, so I took a risk, and it paid off.

I noticed a group of 6 with a motorized wagon walking towards the Nest on the road, so I made my way to the road and waited for them. They greeted me cautiously but friendly. They were merchants from Glimmer and were on a delivery run. I warned them of my pursuers. They allowed me to tag along, as long as I used my own supplies and my gun if conflict arrives.

I hoped my pursuers would've given up the chase now that we were 7, but they didn't. They intercepted and tried claiming I was a wanted on grounds of murder and robbery. I denied this, but before I could speak further, one of the merchants asked them to produce a bounty poster, or my name. They provided neither, and the merchant shot the speaking pursuer. In the surprise, I followed up with my pistol on the other guy.

We found bounty posters on their bodies, even the two that I took. Seems they were also bounty hunters, none too pleased that someone else beat them to the mark. I let the merchants keep any guns or supplies on them as payment for the aid.

I did get to examining the worn STEEL pistols at the end of the day. One barrel was in decent condition, though the rifling was not perfect. I did get a good recoil spring from the other, and they were compatible with my gun. Good to have spares. The bullets were usable, though the magazines were worn. I don't trust them to feed cleanly, so I'll just pocket the spare bullets and sell these mags when I get the chance.
