Everything's running fine. All the synapses connecting every last neuron in your body are at peak efficiency.
Then, one of them finds out they are different from the others, and proceeds to neutralize all the ones around it.

But it's only one synapse node. It doesn't have any more power than what is physically available to it. So it gets the others in on the action. Pretty soon, that white space is full of red, and you're passed out on the floor, subconscious thoughts being the only manner with which to process internal affairs.

Then, it all goes black. Every synapse shuts down, like a bluescreening computer.
All because that one node made the decision to be different from the others.

Yet, what would have gone unaccomplished were it not for differences?
Despite working towards a mortal end, shit gets done regardless.
