TRANSCRIPT

There were quite a few convoys that took the road from the valley towards the Nest. Tried flagging down anyone that I could to inquire about these highwaymen. Most ignored me, one didn't know of anything. But one did encounter an ambush by men matching the description of my target.

From what I was told, it's a group of 3 with one clear leader welding a long gun, the other two carrying handguns. This convoy in particular, was armed and shot at them. One of the grunts was struck by a bullet somewhere on his right side and the group fled. With any hope, they bled a trail, and the convoy was happy to point me in the direction of the ambush.

As always, I kept off the main road but always kept an eye on them. Sure enough, I found the ambush site. Bullet casings on the ground. On the road were rifle shells, on the side, pistol casings, shotgun shells, and drops of blood by scurried footprints.

So I followed, formulated a plan along the way. Pistols and shotguns are capable close range, so I'd better engage them at a further distance with my rifle.

I did hear gunshots in the far distance, as I set up camp for the night. It started with one larger boom, followed by quick snaps. Then, return fire for a few seconds before silence again. It sounded like only two guns were used by these highwaymen.

If they weren't finished off by whoever they just ambushed, then they aren't far. I should catch up with them tomorrow. If I catch them off-guard and at range, I have a good shot at taking them down.
