sometimes i worry that it is not my place to criticize contemporary entertainment offerings since that is not made for me. But a long time ago it WAS, ostensibly, made for me, and i STILL didn't like it
A scene perhaps not a whole lot more inspired than the envelope art sections in the magazines where I used to see these characters but probably more ambitious
If you recognize all or most of these there is something seriously wrong with you, but hopefully not enough for you to draw a similar picture.
i thought about having a contest to see who could name the most, but no reward I can offer would make up for the trauma you would have to go through in order to be able to do that
I had to exclude humans and post sega-saturn-era characters to ensure that I could eventually stop, though a few mild exceptions may have slipped through anyway.
I like a few of the characters and a few of the games even, not necessarily at the same time, but by and large they deserve what they get. They probably have some extra lives lying around anyway.

It will probably take me a few weeks of occasional edits to clean this up but it is not going to get "better"

rayman unfortunately is undeniably successful and largely of the 32-bits-and-beyond period. If I were to add Rayman then I would definitely need to add crash bandicoot, ty the tasmanian tiger, kao kangaroo, glover, croc, conker, banjo kazooey and who knows what else. Gex is questionable

the only consolations are the ones i can't name (if they even had names: the 'furry' (of the fury)? bombuzal guy?) or place (impossamole? mr. nutz?)

I never had an amiga computer but many of its games got ported to other systems! And once I learned of the cd32 a few years ago I did feel it imperative to investigate what sort of material was created for it.
That is indeed a fury-of-the-furry but from what i can tell, those are identical to the brainies/the tinies/tiny skeeks, just with one fewer finger on each glove-hand. At one point I considered adding a hoard of blob-characters but i did not feel like I had space, though i have probably added ten or more non-blobs since deciding that.
the super nes version of bombuzal, curiously renamed "ka-blooey" states "Youre a weird little bug-eyed spud" and as far as I know that is the closest there is to an official description. It simply dissolves in the air if it walks off an edge in-game so I thought it might appreciate being able to fall for a change.

Ardy Lightfoot, Zool, A dope, Awesome Posson, Alfred Chicken, Rolo, Wally No Bear, Willy Wombat, Socket, Acro Acrobat, Puggsy, Bug!, The thing from Zoom!, Gex (My fav who I'm concerned with why uou put him In the lava), and Bubsy Bubcat with small paws so must be the 3D Bubsy.

You are certainly a Bubsy foot-size master since I was unaware of that being a variable aspect. I only used sprites from the first game as reference, though admittedly none of them positioned in such a way.
You also are the first commenter to recognize Rolo.

Since you had to make that the focus, here's a few more I withheld from the comment, James Pond, Punky/Cooly Skunk, Zero the Kamikazi Squrriel, Super Frog (Eric.S did the opening animation), Socks the Cat, the wolf from Fire & Ice, the not so eggcellent Dizzy, Titus the Fox, Lomax, Flicky.

Mr Nutz is near the middle of the picture but is easy to miss amongst a bunch of similar looking creatures, and I was somewhat divided between the in-game version and the label art version. For superfrog i stuck with the in-game version just because I hated the smug label art and especially the ews version so much. quik the thunder rabbit is also based more on a game sprite than the box version.
I don't really care about any of them but that picture is one

Thank you for your enthusiasm! I have made more difficult pictures than this; most of the characters are in basic poses and not interacting with each other or the environment, so my typical habit of moving things around endlessly so I could cram in more nonsense was not as troublesome as it was in some of the other crowded scenes, though this is likely my largest yet number of individual figures.
I put in the lower left pine cone fairly early in the process and then later simply forgot I had already placed one since I could not see it! Yet later when I added another creature in the lower left I saw the first pine cone plenty but by that time I had forgotten I added the second one!

Oh dear, I recognize far too many characters here. Of a few, I see you snuck Cosmo in there. And you made me remember Power Piggs of the Dark Age. Billy the Shell never looked much like his box artwork in game. Socks the Cat is the only game I can think of that has Gerald Ford as a boss. Rocky Rodent has an odd story where he has to fight the mafia. I always saw that Punky Skunk game, but I never got to play it in depth. Is that earthworm jim disguised as a cave salamander? I tried to play the Titus Fox game, but it was not so great, then I found it wasn't even originally the Titus Fox game, but a game starring French Comedian Lagaf that they swapped out the sprites with. I see that triceratops from Bronkie right beside Packy. Also, is that the dang elephant from Marsupilami? Would you like to know they have a newer platformer starring the three marsupilami kids you have to rescue? You can buy it on steam right now as it is a real thing that exists. I guess I don't actually recognize the blue mohawk guy. I kept thinking he was Jersey Devil, but he looks a lot different.
The other elephants are called CJ and Rolo. I thought about the marsupilami elephant because that really is what makes the game awful, and as far as I could figure out did not appear in any previous or subsequent marsupy media, but I did not want to draw it! Jersey Devil I completely forgot about until I looked up "willy wombat," the character that actually is, and saw that some weirdo drew the two of them together. I never heard of wilwom until a few months ago so it was fairly fresh in my mind when i started on the picture. I have taken to quoting the annoyed manner in which the main voice actor says "okayyyyy" when you answer yes to a question.

admittedly a few of them i forgot about until I went to make this. wonder dog and the weird purple bird I learned about amidst its construction.
"hoi" i had to look up just now. Yes I can see the resemblance! The armless green thing at the front here is meant to be from castelian/nebulus/tower toppler. It generally has absurdly large eyes, even relative to other flashy characters from mediocre video games.
