"The hooves help with percussion!"
Faebruary: I am very excited to share this monthlong project with you all! Regular viewers of this channel will know that a lot of my creative focus goes into Kroashent, my ongoing fantasy series. There's a ton of background lore for the series, so I thought it might be fun and helpful to run a little project to introduce to viewers new and old, to the characters and creatures of Kroashent, with a twist!
For the month of February (or rather "Faebruary!" I will be posting drawings of the characters of Kroashent as different creatures from Alvez, their world. To begin, these creatures will be the "Tuath", the sapient, social creatures of the world (think the playable species of D&D). (We'll address the beasties and things that go bump in the night in a future project)
Marie deCygne: Marie is a trouvere, a traveling bard and storyteller. Using a unique magical ability, Marie excels at mimicry, adopting new skills to assist her friends. Marie holds a passion for rediscovering and spreading lost stories and songs.
Teuz: The Korrigan of the Meadows. The hooved Teuz are both the most numerous, and the most integrated of the Korrigan Tuath of Letha, living among Bediz (Human) neighbors and tending to small farms. Agrarian by nature, the Teuz are a pastoral people, preferring small, tight-knit communities full of hard work, song and stories.

Val's Notes: Marie is where I shifted away from the "Goblin/Imp" dynamic and opened it up to other Tuath of Alvez, expanding the scale. The Teuz are still rather short compared to humans though. Marie is inspired by the 12th century Poet "Marie de France", who transcribed many of the stories that inspired Kroashent. She's gone through quite a few revisions before landing at her current iteration, one I'm hoping to explore more in the novels. The Teuz are a nod to the frequent depictions of Breton Korrigan having hooves.
